Food loaders urgently needed | Help feed housing-insecure kids

We are in urgent need of food loaders on Thursday mornings! Loaders will load roughly 10-pound milk crates full of food bags into delivery driver's vehicles who will take them to one of 75 schools we work with. Make an impact in your community today! Loaders are crucial to our operation and make a serious difference in getting food to kids. Please, consider joining our ranks, meeting similarly minded people, and positively impacting your community (never mind getting out of the house!) Loaders arrive around 9:00 am each Thursday, grab a coffee, put on a raincoat (it’s Seattle after all), and load up to 40 cars with over 500 crates. You should be comfortable moving somewhat heavy things over a period of time, needless to say. Backpack Brigade is a midsize 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014, whose sole mission is to end weekend hunger in Washington State. By delivering bags of food to schools, we feed over 2,500 kids per week to help them make it from Friday lunch to Monday breakfast. Our warehouse is located near Showbox Sodo, Filson, and Krispy Kreme on 1st Avenue South Seattle. Backpack Brigade takes COVID-19 seriously and vaccination and masking at all times are required.
