Description
Join this silent, moonlit, meditative walk and be guided through a transformational journey of self-reflection and insight. During this Walking Workshop, the "Wolf" or "Spirit" Moon will beam brightly down to light our path as we silently walk, reflect and then journal on key existential questions. The Wolf Moon is the first full moon of 2022, named by indigenous Americans for the howling of wolves this time of year. Symbolically, it's an invitation to tune into your soul, discover your truths and call out to the parts that have been lost. More than a time of transformation, it's a reclamation. As the routines of life speed along, it's all too easy to quietly, unconsciously lose parts of yourself and lose sight of what really matters. Some important parts may have been lost long ago. This is your chance to let them back in. Flow of the evening: -- We'll meet at 6:30pm, gathering in front of a small coffee patisserie (it's closed at night). This is a popular intersection with several boutique restaurants and will provide a nice contrast to the journey we're about to embark on. -- As we begin our stroll from sidewalks to garden parks, you'll be guided to notice your breath, quiet your mind and tune into your body awareness. -- Throughout the walk, you'll be given powerful prompts to reflect on in quiet contemplation (walking is known to enhance creative thinking). -- Midway through the walk, we'll take a seated break and you'll have a chance to pause and journal your reflections and observations (these can be stream-of-consciousness thoughts or even poetry or creative prose). -- As the workshop completes, you'll be invited to share any meaningful insights that came up (optional). The workshop is scheduled for approximately 1.5 hrs and could go up to 2 hours. It's suggested that you give yourself some quiet time post-event to reflect on what you discovered. Limited spots are available. Sign up now if you don't want to miss out on this unique event. The entire workshop will take place outside, and will take place rain or shine or even light snow. Please dress warm and wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a journal, pen and flashlight/headlamp if you have one. Bathrooms are available at the park near where we'll take our break and at the restaurants on Agate/E. 19th. There is some uphill walking in the parks and not all trails are paved (trails are generally well cared for and we will be taking our time on this journey). Except the introduction, the guide issuing the prompts and our insight sharing at the end, the walk will be silent. Reach out through the "Contact" link under Organizer with any questions.
