Please join the club for an AMTRAK trip to Alexandria/Washington DC. Please join the club for an AMTRAK trip to Alexandria/Washington DC. Bring a cooler, snacks and beverage(s) to have Commodores Happy Hour on the train! If you are local to DC, please join us for this club event. Members that live further west of Richmond, there are also trains that run from Lynchburg/Charlottesville. We will try to arrange one train car where we can all be together starting in Williamsburg. Hotel discounted block will be at Embassy Suites Alexandria Old Town; 1900 Diagonal Rd, Alexandria, VA 22314; (703) 684-5900 PACKAGE Rate: $155/night, includes breakfast and managers happy hour 5:30 to 7 PM. There are other hotels if you prefer, but this is right off the AMTRAK train station and Metro station in Alexandria. If you are driving, be aware parking is expensive - estimate $30-$35/ day. Weekend Metropass is roughly $15 per person which covers metro and bus lines anywhere in the DC area. We will try to pre arrange travel if we have a group large enough to do so, like going to Mount Vernon. Attendees will purchase their own train tickets (www.amtrak.com) ,hotel accommodations and potential ground transportation based on group interest.
