Distribute healthy food with Columbus Gives Back at the Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry on Champion Avenue! Columbus Gives Back is excited to partner back up with our friends from Lutheran Social Services distributing healthy food at their Champion Avenue Pantry! Where: Champion Food Pantry, 1460 S Champion Ave, Columbus, OH 43206 Parking: We have a parking lot available across the street from the pantry on Frebis Ave. The volunteer entrance is also located on the Frebis Ave. side of the building (the front door on the corner of Champion and Frebis will be locked until we open for clients). When: Saturday, February 5th (9:15am - 12:00pm) Event Leaders: [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: • LSS is requiring that volunteers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or have tested negative for COVID-19 in the past 48 hours. • All LSS volunteers will be required to wear a surgical or N-95 mask while serving. We will provide these masks to volunteers who need them. Masks must be worn properly over the mouth and nose during the entire volunteer shift at indoor and outdoor sites and distributions. About Lutheran Social Services: Food, clothing and shelter are the basic needs of all people. Due to unforeseen circumstances, sometimes people are unable to obtain these basic needs. That’s why Lutheran Social Services (LSS) offers a continuum of services to lend a helping hand. Through our programs, we reach 27 counties in Ohio with select services offered statewide. Our mission is to connect young professionals across central Ohio and engage them in our communities through 35-40 social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities per month. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers.
