Hey folks! Looking for a drummer and bass player to round out a new project; vocalist (a darn good one I might add) and guitars are good to go. We have rehearsal space in West Town - drummers just bring sticks, as we have a kit set up and ready to go as well. Goals for this project, in no particular order: - Have fun. We are late 30s, primarily hobbyist, but of course we would like to play live once or twice a month when we are sufficiently rehearsed. If you are not the greatest drummer or bassist and do not have Grammy’s and loads of experience, that is totally fine. Experience and ability are often viewed as musts, but from I have seen, experience and ability should pertain to an entire group as a whole, and that doesn’t happen until you start playing together. Being the world’s best drummer doesn’t necessarily make you a fun person to hang out with, and it doesn’t necessarily mean you will fit in every group, either. There is so much more to a group playing music than experience and ability. - If you feel comfortable responding to this than your ability is probably more than ok. - We play both original music and covers. We are slowly putting together original songs, but also playing covers. Covers are chosen by each member, and so far have included a variety of genres. - Primary genres of interest among current members include indie, rock, alternative, punk, punk/emo, post punk, grunge, and 2010-2012 era alternative/indie. - We will be interested in eventually recording. I have an 8 track recorder at the rehearsal space. I need to learn how to use this recorder. But I have it!! - Open to ideas from everyone; this is not the project of one person who has a precise idea of what they’re looking for in terms of sound. Bring your ideas, be comfortable writing a terrible song and sharing it haha. - Learning and having fun are the only rules. We value mistakes, we notice them, laugh at them, work through them, no biggie. - 420 friendly, feel free to bring beer, or boxed wine, or those fucking spritzer things. - This is the longest goddamn craigslist add ever.
