With the Beijing Olympics fast approaching, human rights abuses in China are in the spotlight again. However, due to the Chinese regime’s enormous influence in Hollywood, to my knowledge, no theatrically released movie (other than documentaries) has ever focused on current human rights issues in China. Unsilenced will be the first movie that does just that.
It will be released on Jan. 21 in select theaters nationwide, including the Cinemark Raleigh Grande (details below).
A thriller based on true events, Unsilenced tells the story of a jaded American reporter and a team of college students in Beijing.
When the Chinese Communist Party launched a brutal persecution against 100 million citizens in 1999, these courageous individuals risked everything to expose the deadly propaganda and fight for freedom. Watch the trailer at UnsilencedMovie.com
