NORTHPORT, NY — Posey, a 5-month-old female kitten, was named the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week. Posey was rescued with her sister from the cold streets when she was just a baby, Lora Wild, a volunteer with the cat rescue, wrote. "Her sister was much more outgoing than Posey and when they both went into our habitats for adoption events, Posey's sister had a line of people interested in her and was adopted quickly, even though they looked like twins," Wild said. "Posey was timid and just didn't get the attention she so deserved. After a while, she just curled up in a corner and tried to disappear. We just couldn't let that happen and so we took her out of the habitats and put her into a loving foster home to give her some TLC. There, her personality is shining." Posey loves to cuddle, according to Wild. She will sleep in between her foster parents and snuggle and purr. She adores her foster kitten brothers and has become a bit of a Tom Boy hanging out with them and running around and playing. She is quite sassy and fun and can be caught sipping a drink of water out of her foster mom's glass when she is not looking. "Posey is simply amazing," Wild said. "She just needed to be reminded of that with some one-on-one attention. We would love to get her adopted straight from foster care so that her personality continues to shine. She is a special little girl and we hope she never tries to disappear again." Posey, a 5-month-old female kitten, is the Northport Cat Rescue Association's Kitten of the Week.
