Corinthian Yacht Club (CYC) is seeking a full time Junior Sailing Director starting immediately for the 2022 season. The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of our junior sailing programs, which caters to both members and non-members ages 6-17. The sailing season is approximately 8 weeks long, however the Junior Sailing Director will require at least 10 weeks of full time, hands-on managerial and administrative focus, overseeing all aspects of the program's activities. Remote work of roughly 5-10 hours per month will be required during the offseason, focusing on seasonal staffing, curriculum, coordination with the other clubs activities, and working jointly with the clubs overall Sailing Director and Sailing Committee. Overall Responsibilities: Overseeing daily operations of the program including quality of instruction, curriculum, supervision of behavior, daily communication with parents, and overall record keepingRecruiting and hiring of coaches and junior instructors prior to and during the season as necessaryTraining of all junior coaches and instructorsOverseeing maintenance of boats and facilityMarketing of program offerings including the creation of collateral and training documentsMaintaining all social media channels for junior sailingKeeping Sailing Director and Sailing Committee up to speed with routine check-ins throughout the season and occasionally in the offseasonCoordinating regatta logistics in conjunction with junior sailing parentsConducting registration of all studentsWorking with Dockmaster/Waterfront Director and Sailing Director on budgeting for staffing needs and operating costsResponsible for the de-rigging and storing of all junior sailboats and equipment at the end of the seasonPlanning and coordinating allocation of people and resourcesOverseeing, and where necessary, developing and sending pre- and post-season communications to appropriate parties including the Waterfront Director, Sailing Committee, the Operating Committee and the Executive Committee.Setting appropriate quality standards and evaluating program successOperating a full range of dinghies, keelboats and motorboatsScheduling and coordinating of activities for all private lessonsAssisting with and organizing junior instructors for the Family Sail ProgramWorking with Pool Director and Tennis Director to ensure seamless flow of activities for kids during the dayJob Requirements 3+ Years of Sailing program management/coaching/teaching experienceUS Sailing Small Boat Sailing Instructor Level 1 Certification (Level 2 or 3 preferred)First Aid and CPR current certificationsAdministrative zeal and interpersonal skills commensurate with a position that routinely interacts with club members, parents, and club flag officersExperience coaching junior sailors at all levelsStrong, demonstrated understanding of sailing and powerboatingAbility to work efficiently, independently and reliablyCustomer-focused and detail-oriented
