NORWALK, CT — Mayor Harry Rilling has opened a warming center in Norwalk due to "extreme cold weather" in the city. In an email Tuesday morning, city spokesperson Josh Morgan said the warming center, which will be available to residents through Wednesday morning, is located in the community room at the Norwalk Police Department on Monroe Street. The community room is available 24 hours a day. Coronavirus safety protocols are in place at the warming center and face coverings are required, Morgan said. Residents in need of shelter or other assistance are encouraged to contact 2-1-1, Morgan said.
