MANASSAS, VA — A man was assaulted during an armed robbery attempt in Manassas on Saturday night, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Now, authorities are looking for the two suspects who attempted to rob the man as he made a delivery.
The incident was reported to authorities just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8. The attempted robbery occurred in the 10200 block of Farragut Court in Manassas.
The victim, who authorities identified as a 47-year-old man, was making a delivery in the area when two unknown men approached him. The men displayed a firearm and ordered the man to hand over his property, according to the police report.
The victim refused to comply with the suspects' demands, police said. At that point, the two men assaulted the victim. The suspects fled the area on foot when a nearby resident stepped out of their home.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, authorities said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
A police K-9 responded to the area to search for the suspects, who were not located. Authorities noted that no shots were fired during the robbery attempt.
One suspect was described as a tall Black man in his early 20s, police said. He had brown hair.
The other suspect was a tall Hispanic man wearing a facemask and a black and gray hooded sweatshirt, authorities said in the police report.
