Here are the top six stories today in Denver: Denver City Council votes 10-3 in favor of massive airport $1.3bn contracts. The approval paves the way to complete the long-delayed upgrade to the Great Hall. The plan's aim is to accommodate more passengers and modernize check-in areas, including a new security checkpoint at the airport. This will take the renovation's final cost well over $2 billion. Council members Candi CdeBaca, Paul Kashmann, and Amanda Sawyer voted no, with Sawyer suggesting the process behind the contracts was not transparent enough. (Denverite)Ease climate anxiety by planting trees. The Park People have over 1,000 free and low-cost trees that are available to Denver residents. The Denver Digs Trees program encourages Denverites to plant new trees as a way to take direct action and to make a tangible difference in the community.
