Description

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Officials said an Annapolis house fire displaced six adults, four children and one dog on Wednesday. Nobody was hurt. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the blaze, which started around the back deck. Occupants and neighbors reported the fire in the unit block of Bunche Street at 7 p.m. Everybody escaped before crews arrived. First responders found flames coming from the rear and the roof of the two-story, single-family home. Firefighters called for backup as they battled the blaze in the wood-frame house. A team of 50 controlled the scene within 50 minutes. Officials did not estimate how much damage the flames caused. They did mention that the home had functioning smoke detectors.
