Description
CHATHAM, NJ — Monday night's Board of Education meeting was eventful, with two separate components, the board's annual reorganization, plus a regular meeting.
Four Board of Education members who were re-elected in November, took their oaths of office, along with a new member filling an unexpired term.
Ann Ciccarelli and Chris Delsandro took their seats as Chatham Borough's representatives, with Michelle Clark and Lata Kenny for Chatham Township, all incumbents who prevailed in the election.
Jill Critchley Weber, who had been Board of Education President in 2021, was nominated again for the role and was unanimously voted in, with Ciccarelli nominated and chosen unanimously by the board for the vice-president seat.
After Board of Education Member Sal Arnuk resigned on Nov. 1, with his schedule and responsibilities making it difficult to participate, the Board invited Chatham Township residents, where Arnuk had been a representative, to apply.
A committee including Clark, Kenny, Matthew Gilfillan and Michael Ryan, met with six residents who were initially interested in taking Arnuk's unexpired term, with Susan Ross ultimately chosen.
Ross was sworn in as well and began her term on Monday night.
