PITTSBURGH, PA — A Carrick High School student is in custody after a gun was found at the school Tuesday, a Pittsburgh Public Schools spokesperson said. The school was on lockdown following a social media post indicating a gun was in the building. Pittsburgh and school district police searched the building with K-9 officers, and the weapon was located. The lockdown has been lifted, but the the school will be on modified lockdown on Wednesday. No one will be admitted into the building without an appointment. The student was not identified. There was no word on what charges will be filed.
