NORTH RIVERSIDE, IL — A North Riverside man is accused of robbing two suburban Chicago banks in recent weeks.
Antonio E. Collins, 26, held up a Chase Bank branch in Bolingbrook on Dec. 21 and a BMO Harris Bank branch in Homewood on Jan. 3, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.
In each robbery, Collins handed the teller a handwritten note demanding money and stating that he would shoot people if the teller did not comply, the release said. He made off with about $2,900 from Chase Bank and $21,800 from BMO Harris, prosecutors said.
Collins is charged with two counts of bank robbery.
