JOLIET, IL — A Joliet Patch analysis of traffic collisions across the entire city of Joliet shows that two intersections on the city's far west side led the pack in terms of crashes for last year. In 2021, the intersection of Route 59 and Caton Farm Road had a total of 37 vehicles, according to data kept by the Joliet Police Department. Coming in with the second-highest total of vehicle crashes was the intersection of Theodore Street and Route 59, with 35 collisions. Here's a summary of Joliet intersections with at least 10 crashes throughout 2021: 1. ROUTE 59 and CATON FARM ROAD: 37 total crashes, 10 people injured 2. THEODORE STREET and ROUTE 59: 35 total crashes, nine people injured 3. BROADWAY STREET and WESTERN AVENUE: 27 total crashes, 15 people injured 4. RAYNOR AVENUE and JEFFERSON STREET: 20 total crashes, three people injured. 5. PLAINFIELD ROAD and HENNEPIN DRIVE: 20 total crashes, nine people injured. 6. LARKIN AVENUE and JEFFERSON STREET: 17 total crashes, 10 people injured. 7. WESTERN AVENUE and HICKORY STREET: 14 total crashes, 1 person injured. 8. CATON FARM ROAD and CRYDER LANE: 13 total crashes, four people injured. 9. ESSINGTON ROAD and BLACK ROAD: 13 total crashes, five people injured. 10. PLAINFIELD ROAD and MALL LOOP DRIVE: 11 total crashes, five people injured. 11. LARKIN AVENUE and MCDONOUGH STREET: 11 total crashes, one person injured. 12. WEST CATON FARM ROAD and FRONTAGE ROAD: 11 total crashes, six people injured. 13. RUBY STREET and NORTH CENTER STREET: 10 crashes, two injuries. 14. NORTH LARKIN AVENUE and WEST INGALLS AVENUE: 10 crashes, four injuries.
