Description
JOLIET, IL — A 23-year-old Joliet woman who lives in the apartment units in the 300 block of North Broadway Street remains in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say she stabbed a man in the back Sunday night. Alexis D.Y. Pringle was booked into custody around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
The Will County State's Attorney's Office of Jim Glasgow has charged Pringle with aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon.
One of her charges states that Pringle knowingly possessed a set of pink metal knuckles in violation of Illinois law. The aggravated battery charge indicates that Pringle caused great bodily harm to a man "in that said defendant stabbed (the victim) in his back with a knife."
A Will County judge set bail at $5,000 for Pringle. As of Tuesday night, she remained incarcerated, unable to post the necessary 10 percent to regain her freedom while awaiting trial.
In the event that Pringle posts her bond, a judge has ordered her to stay away from the stabbing victim and she must not return to the apartment unit in the 300 block of North Broadway, court documents show .
Pringle's next court appearance is set for Jan. 31 in Courtroom 405.
