NORTH CAROLINA — North Carolina based Food Lion is recalling two salad kits over fears of contamination, according to the retailer. The in-store prepared Cobb and Chef's Salad Kits are the two in question. Food Lion says it was alerted by their vendor of potential listeria contamination. This affects only Cobb and Chef's Salad kits sold from the deli at all Food Lion stores between Dec. 26 of last year and Jan. 10. If you look at the package, the sell-by date will between Dec. 30 and Jan 10. Customers with the affected salads should return it to their local Food Lion for a refund equal to double the purchase price, per the store chain, which offers a "double your money back" guarantee on its items. Of course, they strongly advise you not to eat it just in case you were considering it.
