Description
My name is Milana, and I’m a college senior at the University of Minnesota expected to graduate this fall semester 2022 with a triple major in Physics, Philosophy, and Psychology with future plans to attend graduate school for a phD in clinical psychology. I have a special interest in developmental psychology and attachment theory. I’m taking time off school due to financial hardship and the need to earn money to continue my education, and can commit to at least a year of work in the Twin Cities area (within 45 minutes of Minneapolis, MN). I have 2 years of paid experience as an infant, toddler, and pre-K teacher for New Horizon Academy and am certified in CPR and first aid (and can show proof of certification). More recently, I was a working as a nanny for a family of three children, but that position was unfortunately no longer a good fit for me when the family had my hours reduced down to only 20 hours per week and didn't have the financial ability to offer me more hours. I’m looking to be placed with a family who is looking for a nanny for at least 30-40 hours a week. Ideally, I would like to work with four children or less to make sure each child receives the kind of high quality one-on-one attention and consistently warm care-giving that can provide them with a secure attachment style and healthy psychosocial development. I’m available to work all day Monday through Friday (even nights), and can occasionally work additional hours during the weekends (Sat & Sun) when needed. I’m completely COVID vaccinated (Pfizer) and can show proof of vaccination. I have an interest in the fine arts, and possess talent as a painter, illustrator, poet, and writer so I plan on using the creative arts to engage the children and help them find their own voice and to sublimate and express their identity through creating and appreciating/interpreting art and literature. I have a driver’s license and US passport, no criminal record, and a reliable vehicle (Lexus RX 330). I’ve never smoked (I'm allergic to tobacco smoke), I hardly drink socially as a trauma survivor, and I am pet friendly (both cats and dogs are awesome). Please contact me if you are looking for a loving and attentive nanny and tutor determined to help children develop intellectually/academically as well as provide them the warm, attentive, consistent and empathic caregiving called for by the decades of scientific research supporting John Bowlby's attachment theory as necessary for healthy personality, psychosocial, intellectual, and emotional development.
