Job Description: Under supervision of Executive Director, the Stage Tech manages the theatre scene shop and stage. Typical duties include: Managing the theatre scene shop Responsible for the construction of all theatrical sets and scenery Oversee all crew hired to work at shop Organize, inventory all tools; administer repairs as needed Liaison with contracted set designer for set construction Liaison/oversee renters regarding shop use for Ellen event Managing Ellen stage/backstage area Organize and inventory theatre furniture and props Responsible for stage and related equipment, maintaining good repair (Genie lift serviced on schedule; repair seats as needed; maintain stage rigging, curtains, cyc and associated matters) Organize and inventory theatre tool room; administer repairs as needed Responsible for load-in and assembly of all sets and scenery Oversee all crew hired in association with sets and scenery at theatre Interface with theatre lighting design and sound design tech Qualifications: Knowledge of construction, use of tools and related safety measures Ability to: Work various day, evening, night, week-end hours, use hand tools, follow and implement construction designs, perform manual labor work requiring strength and dexterity, exercise good judgement and courtesy with staff and the public, utilize quality customer service skills and techniques.
