Birth room cleaner at birth center - Seattle
Jobs
1500 Eastlake Ave E near E. Galer St, Seattle WA
Description
If interested please send short note and work and school history/resume. The Center for Birth is a free-standing birth center in Seattle near South Lake Union. We are hiring for 2 open birth suite cleaner positions to begin in February. This is a part-time job, better for people who are not depending on this as a major source of income. It’s a great way to make some supplemental cash, and offers a pretty flexible schedule. We provide training. Pay is $58 per cleaning, each cleaning typically takes about an hour. Finishing laundry may require more time. There might be 5 to 10 total cleanings per month - since the call-schedule is split across two to three cleaners, there is no guarantee how much work you will have on a given month. Because of the nature of birth, there are times when a room will be ready for cleaning in the middle of the night. It is rare that this would happen but there *might* be a time when you have to come in at odd hours/night to clean a room if we are out of available birth suites. Otherwise, it's ok to wait until daybreak to come in. More detailed job description: Birth suite cleaners come in after a basic-level cleaning has already been done by birth team, and perform the sanitizing-level cleaning and laundry. The job consists of doing a thorough sanitizing clean of a birth suite following a birth, completing all the laundry (sometimes people choose to come back later to finish), and re-stocking the room. In addition, straightening up the waiting area and vacuuming small area as needed. Requirements: • reliable cellphone for text notification • reliable transportation, 24-hrs a day - though you will RARELY have to come in between midnight and 6am - only in an emergency. • Ideally ability to come to job within an hour or two of being notified (or sooner if it's an urgent need but again, it usually works to wait until daylight if it is the middle of the night) • neat and clean appearance • friendly and respectful attitude Summary of job tasks: • Clean then disinfect all surfaces: table tops, door knobs, light switches, etc. • Clean and disinfect tub, toilet, and sink • Make bed, return decorative items to room • Sweep and damp-mop floor • Process laundry: wash, dry, fold, put away (midwife team usually starts the laundry, and sometimes there is only one load so all that has to happen is move it to dryer then put it away) • Straighten up family waiting room: wipe counters/tables and vacuum floor if needed • Remove any trash and food left in waiting room area or kitchen • Dust as needed
