Description
If you have been wanting to jam with others but feel intimidated by all of the Craigslist ads that demand you are Keith Richards, Robert Trujillo or Herbie Hancock, then this post is for you. You will notice a lot of CL ads mention they require you have years of live experience, pro gear; that you must be serious and comitted. These are Craigslist ads, not nation wide calls to replace Lindsay Buckingham for an arena tour. Do they still tour? One of the most efficeint ways to improve chops is to play with others, especially others that are more advanced. If you want to play...whatever it is you play ( I play keys and guitar but also would like to play with other keys and guitar), then we may be a match. Drums, bass, strings, guitar, keys, horns...whatever. It is one hundred percent irrelevant to to me what your skill level is. I have been playing piano and guitar for years and always learn new skills from others, regardless if they know what a flat 5 sharp 9 add the fourth on the third bar is. If you don't know it, I can show it to you and in return you can show me something I don't know. Craigslist ads can be really negative, with people thinking they are just on the cuff of making it big and excluding tons of musicians that just want to have fun and leave the ego at home. If you are posting an ad on Craigslist, you are not famous. I have plenty of room and a small studio. If you want to explore your musicianship live, with someone who may be more, or less, talented and advanced, I am game. I am a product 80's and 90's, but listen to and play an expansice range of music. For example, last night I tried to play a Dire Straits solo over a RunDMC backing track. Then we played an Adele backig track and I played a John Coltraine-style lick on the guitar. Anything goes in my book. I am 46 and live in Aurora. I am not too concerend how old you are, and I am pretty open-minded about.....everything. I just don't partake anymore because I am in healthcare. Good luck and thanks for reading my ad.
