A hands-on, week long, beginner farmer workshop. Learn by Doing! $600 Registration Fee, $500, Early Bird Deadline: April 1, 2022. Hosted by University of Idaho Soil Stewards Farm and University of Idaho, Latah County Extension Have you always wanted to be a farmer? Or do you simply want to know more about how food is produced on a diversified vegetable farm? This workshop will cover various topics for beginning and aspiring farmers including vegetable production, soil health, irrigation systems, holistic approaches to pest and weed management, small farm tools and machinery, farm planning and budgeting, and visits to several local organic farms. Mornings will be spent working on the farm. Afternoons will be spent in the classroom or on farm tours.
