Come out and enjoy drinks, appetizers and learn about the Double Up Food Bucks Program and what it means for the community at large We will have special guest speakers, Alisha Pruett from The Bulb and Rachel Kinard and Hannah Margolis from Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture Tickets are $35 and will go towards supporting the Double Up Food Bucks Program Alisha Pruett is the founder of The Bulb. The Bulb is a donation-based and nonprofit mobile farmers market. Since 2016, The Bulb has been providing fresh, mostly local food to the Charlotte area. Alisha will share her experience with The Bulb, the impact Double Up Food Bucks has on her community and how to engage new communities.. Rachel Kinard and Hannah Margolis will share information about the Double Up Food Bucks in Watauga County and how our community's program is seen as a model across North Carolina. The Double Up Food Bucks Program has doubled more than $90,000 since 2017 in Watauga County, impacting 278 families in 2021. Double Up allows more people to have access to healthy, local food while giving our local farmers and our local community an economic boost.
