As a no-kill shelter, we rely solely on donations, grants, and fundraising events to assist in providing life-saving medical care to hundreds of pets in need each year. This kind of funding is essential to maintain our no-kill mission. In 2021, EHS spent over $80,000 on outpatient medical care to ensure that each pet residing with us has an opportunity to live an amazing life. Your support is vital to our success and with a strong base of sponsors we are certain to raise funds to support the most critical needs of our shelter pets. As an independent agency not affiliated with any national organization, our work depends on the generous support of individuals and organizations. All funds raised at the Gala will directly benefit the EHS Outpatient Medical Fund. For many, emergency medical care is crucial for their survival and is a true testament of our dedication to rehabilitation. EHS strives to be an effective and innovative leader that works to strengthen the human-animal bond and improve the lives of companion animals, as well as the people who care for them. For over 127 years, the Humane Society has served as a safety-net for relinquished, stray, and abandoned animals and ensures that each animal is treated with compassion and given the best quality of care. Operating under "No-Kill" standards, the Erie Humane Society works to rehabilitate the whole pet, understanding their behavioral, medical, and emotional needs. Our shelter has refocused its efforts on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pets to the best of our ability. The vision is to ensure refuge, develop relationships, and work with companion animals that are in need of rehabilitation prior to adoption.
