MALDEN, MA — Masks are back in indoor spaces in Malden. An executive order from Mayor Gary Christenson and Health Director Chris Webb went into effect Friday, Jan. 7. The order also requires public meetings to be held remotely starting Monday, Jan. 10. The mask mandate requires anyone over the age of 2 to wear a face covering when in any indoor public location, including retailers, gyms, restaurants, bars, grocery stores, event venues, private/social clubs and municipal buildings. Customers of restaurants and bars may remove their masks when they are actively eating or drinking, the order states. The order does not apply to private gatherings.
