Join us at CISCRP’s free, educational event to learn what clinical trials are, why they are important, and how you can get involved. Clinical trials can change lives. Learn how you can get involved in your community. Our Journey to Better Health | AWARE for All events provide an overview about clinical research, answering important questions you may have about the process with resources available from local organizations and from community members who share their firsthand experiences participating in clinical research. Join us on March 9th, from 5-8PM at the The Harbert Center in downtown Birmingham, AL to learn more about clinical trials. AWARE for All – Birmingham will feature a panel discussion lead by community members who have participated in a clinical trial or work as a healthcare professional. This event will also feature both local and national exhibiting organizations with resources about clinical research and the programs and services they offer. Event Agenda: •5:00 PM: The Informational Exhibit Center opens Attendees can access free health screenings, and visit exhibits from advocacy, community, and wellness organizations.6:00 PM: Welcome & Opening Remarks6:10-6:30 PM: Clinical Research Overview PresentationAttendees will learn what a clinical trial is, how trials are conducted, who participates, and how to get involved.• 6:30-7:30 PM: Speaker Panel Hear from community members who have participated in a clinical trial and knowledgeable healthcare/research professionals.• 7:30-7:45 PM: Closing Remarks ‘Thank You’ to attendees and announcement of raffle prize winners The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering people to make informed decisions about clinical research participation.
