ANDOVER, MA — Nomination papers are available for Andover's 2022 town election, scheduled for March 22 this year. Nine people have already taken out papers to run for four different positions in town; three have already returned them. Nine seats are on the ballot this year across five offices, boards and committees. Nomination papers are available from the town clerk's office and are due back Feb. 1. Nominations must include 50 signatures from registered Andover voters. The following seats are up for election: Town Moderator – 1 seat, 1-year termIncumbent: Sheila DohertyPunchard Free School – 3 seats1 seat, 3-year termIncumbent: Steven Pecock1 seat, 2-year termIncumbent: Melissa Danish1 seat, 1-year termIncumbent Paul MacKaySchool Committee – 2 seats, 3-year termIncumbents: Paul Murphy, Shannon ScullySelect Board – 2 seats, 3-year termIncumbents: Alex Vispoli, Richard HoweTrustee for Cornell Fund – 1 seat, 3-year termIncumbent: Calvin Perry The Punchard Free School Board has multiple seats of different term-lengths up for election because current members Melissa Danish and Paul MacKay resigned, Town Clerk Melissa Ripley said. The last day to withdraw from the ballot will be Feb. 17. The registration deadline is March 2. Nine residents have already taken out papers.
