Stafford Man Accused Of Pointing A Gun At Utility Workers: Police

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A man from Stafford threatened utility workers with pistol on Friday afternoon, according to a report from the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. The man, who police identified as Mohammed Sultany, was charged with four counts of brandishing a firearm. "Seeing a utility truck on your street this week in Stafford was like Christmas for The Whos of Whoville in Dr. Seuss books, a cause for great celebration or Whobilation," the Stafford County Sheriff's Office wrote on their Facebook page. "While most residents anxiously awaited the arrival of the power company to restore electricity, one resident had quite a different reaction." Around 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, three utility workers were clearing downed trees from power lines in the area near Pine View Drive in Stafford County. Another man, a resident who lived in the area, was also in the wood line with the workers, near the intersection of two property lines. A neighbor, who was later identified as Sultany, approached the four men with a gun in hand, police said. Authorities claimed that Sultany brandished the handgun at all four men and threatened to shoot anyone who came on his property. After an investigation, a Stafford County Deputy obtained warrants for Sultany's arrest. A Glock 22 pistol was collected as evidence, authorities said.
