Here are the top five stories today in Denver: Denver Broncos likely to have a new owner, a new coach and a new starting QB in 2022. This has been the Bronco's fifth consecutive losing season, and the now the team is hoping to shed its losing ways. On Sunday, the Bronco's fired Coach Fangio after his third season at the helm of a team that's turned out to be a disappointment to both fans and the team's management. (CPR)RTD service in metro Denver is being impacted by the latest omicron surge. In addition to staff shortages that have plagued the beleaguered Regional Transportation District for years, now COVID-19 is affecting its ability to move people across town. (7News) Whaaat?? Looks like another diner has shut it doors in Denver. Denver has lost so many greasy spoons over the past year, and the now word on the street is that Swift's Breakfast House on Santa Fe has closed, too. (Westword) CSU opens first building on new Denver campus, aims to become the "Silicon Valley of Agriculture." The CSU Spur will be made up of three campus buildings that will offer education opportunities for all grade-levels and a chance to interact with working professionals that are involved in health, food and water. (9News)Avalanche near Breckenridge kills two backpackers and a dog. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center said the avalanche happened on Hoosier Pass, which is just south of Breckenridge off of Colorado 9. The Colorado Department of Transportation's data set indicates that, as of Dec. 31, there have been 671 traffic-related deaths across the state in 2021. (CDOT) Don't be a puffer: With cold morning temperatures, the Denver Police is reminding you to not to leave your vehicle running while you are warm and toasty in your house. Far too many autos are stolen when "puffers" leave their cars unattended – not to mention that you're not doing any favors to Denver's air quality.
