Press release from the Cass County Government: 01/10/2022 9:00 am North Dakota was represented by the Cass County 4-H Consumer Decision Making Team at the 2022 Western National Roundup in Denver on January 6-9, 2022. The team was named the Reserved Overall Grand Champion. The team also received awards for the Grand Champion Group Think Team, second place for the High Reasons Team, and fifth place for the High Placing Team. Individual awards went to Linnea Axtman, fifth place in Overall High Individual and fifth place in High Individual in Reasons and Elsa Axtman, fourth place in High Individual in Reasons. Team members are Linnea Axtman, Fargo; Elsa Axtman, Fargo; Aubrey Delaney, Fargo; and Nolan Severance, Hunter. The team was coached by Rita Ussatis, Extension Agent/Cass County. Consumer Decision Making, a 4-H consumer activity, is an exercise in decision-making that involves ranking four items in six different classes. Classes included in this national event were fast foods, toothpaste, wearable technology, brewing coffee, carry-on luggage and subscription shopping. Youth also offer oral reasons to support the class placings and finish by competing in a group think activity with the topic being fundraising.   This press release was produced by the Cass County Government.
