Description

Looking for a solid group of players to team up with to have a long career playing cover gigs in and around Vegas. The set list (and music genre really) is up for discussion, but I'm leaning toward finding a balance between the 90's popular tunes that the ladies enjoyed (Fuel, Filter, Barenaked Ladies, Tragically Hip, Alanis Morissette) and the poppier side of grunge (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice in Chains (but the more upbeat songs). The idea is to keep people dancing and tapping their feet. Most important to me is finding people that all get along so if you read this ad and you think it would be nice to be playing music with me, drop me an email. - Lead Vocals - Lead Guitar - Bass Ideally we will start as a 3 piece were guitar or bass takes on lead vocals. I do believe in making sure whoever does the most work gets paid more so a musician taking on lead vocals as well guitar or bass will get a higher % of the gig pay. As we are able to take on larger gigs we'll have the decision to bring on more full time members or perhaps hire out pros to sub in. I will create song charts when we get to that point for subs. I'm a new to the area drummer with a lot of playing and band organizing experience. If you like being in a very organized band where you just show up and play your instrument and get paid, then this is a good band for you. If you like to do a little extra, like book gigs or play bass and sing lead vocals for the night and get paid more for doing those things, then this is a good band for you. Solo, duo, trio, four+ all sound like fun gigs to me. I'll find the gigs even if I'm not needed, like in a quiet duo situation I'll book it and I'll come do sound. I'll record the demo, make band photos happen, maybe make a video. We'll all learn the songs on our own, I'll provide MP3's of all the versions we'll be covering, we'll rehearse as much as needed (hopefully not much) to get tight and perhaps work some songs into medleys and choreograph transitions, band introductions, solos, perhaps have an improvised section in each set, etc... Then I'll go book gigs, take care of the PA/sound and we'll go play. Easy as that. Rehearsals/auditions will be at MDV Studios Hoping to find musicians with the following qualities: - You learn the tunes on your own and come to rehearsals prepared. - You're a composed human being and you carry yourself like a pro at gigs. - You love playing gigs. - You appreciate a no/low drama environment where you learn songs you like to play that people hopefully like to hear and you go play them in public. - Certainly not necessary, but a love of progressive music (Rush, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Zappa) will be a big plus and make for some fun warm up jams and give us all something musically in common. If you're still reading, drop me an email. Let me know your experience level, instrument you play and we'll take it from there.
