DETROIT — Michigan State Police closed a portion of Interstate 75 to investigate a possible freeway shooting Sunday night.
Officials said the River Rouge Police Department told them a man said he was shot at Sunday night on northbound Interstate 75 between Schaefer Road and Springwells Street in Southwest Detroit near River Rouge.
The man said a dark pickup truck shot at him from the passenger side while he was driving in the left lane, officials said. The man was transported to a local hospital for non life threatening injuries.
Police said they searched the freeway for evidence and are attempting to verify the victims story. The freeway is back open as of Monday morning.
