SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega has canceled his in-person state of Scottsdale address because of the rise of COVID-19 cases in the city, according to a news release.
The mayor said the decision to cancel the in-person event, set for Jan. 18, was a difficult one.
Instead, the mayor plans to put out a state of Scottsdale video in February.
"Scottsdale has many reasons to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of our community," Ortega said in the release. "While we won't do that together in person as I would have liked, I look forward to sharing those stories, and talking about the challenges and choices that lie ahead."
