Description

We are looking to rehome our super sweet, albeit quite nervous, 30 lb golden retriever mix dog. He is two years old, up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and has been well loved in our home. He has been perfect with all of our kids, even with bringing a new baby home this year. He follows commands “sit” “shake” “off” “out” “drop” and is generally very eager to please. The struggle has come with his anxiety: We have an active household, with people stopping by, and kids’ friends coming over, and have come to realize that his anxiety and skittishness is too much for him (and us) to handle in this environment. He barks at people coming over and becomes very protective. He has never bitten anyone, but has nipped at cousins and the veterinarian, and we do everything we can to help ease his anxieties— one of our priorities in rehoming him is to avoid a situation that goes beyond nipping. He takes a lot of gentle reassurance and this has proved to be more than an inconvenience with a napping baby and a shift worker in our home. He is generally nervous around other dogs, but could warm up to a K9 friend, likely quicker to one who is more his size. He has played well with the neighbor’s cat who is very outgoing— so he could possibly get along with other animals. He loves to sit with someone and is very affectionate. We are hoping to find a truly loving, patient, and calm home where he can feel safe and secure. Small Rehoming Fee. Text/Call Josh 5 zero 9 4 2 zero 3 one nine 8
