want to start band, simple music - whatever you play is good

Hi - I'm 23 and I make beats, mix & record, and play keys and guitar. I'd like to start a little group, ideally with local musicians around my age. I don't want to come in with too specific an angle or genre because I actually want to start something - doesn't have to be our dream band or dream sound, just something everyone likes. I'd like to do pretty basic stuff to start with, like no more than 4 chords per song (ha ha). Nothing crazy rhythmically, just simple rock and soul based music with a beat and a good bass-line, and then we could go over that foundation and be a bit more expressive. Originals for sure. Equal creative partnership kind of thing. I write and sing a bit, but an instrumental group would be kind of cool. I'd like to practice, maybe record, and play local spots. I like all kinds of music, particularly a lot of old soul, but I won't list a bunch of bands here - I'd be curious to talk about music and see if we're aligned. Particularly looking for a rhythm section but if you sing or play something else that's great. Thanks for reading! hope to hear from you. -Nick
