Farm Hand

Jobs

Meyer near Wyoming, Rathdrum ID

Description

This is a salaried job that includes agricultural equipment operation as well as manual labor including moving irrigation pipes. General knowledge of mechanics and minor repairs on farm equipment is a must. December-March is generally shop work/maintenance. March-May is spring work. June-July is the busiest with irrigation and cutting of hay. August is wheat and pea harvest and cutting of alfalfa. September-November is fall work with miscellaneous projects before it gets too cold. There is an annual incentive given for commitment to the schedule. The schedule varies due to weather and the jobs needing done. We work very long days at times and we also work a lot of weekends during the growing season. I always try to have most weekends off but do not promise them off during our busy time April-August. There is roughly a month of vacation time each year with a week off in the spring, summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
