We're celebrating Alva Belmont's 169th birthday with a guided tour of Belcourt! Alva Belmont, born Alva Erskine Smith on January 17, 1853, married the original owner of Belcourt, Oliver Belmont, and received the villa-stable as a wedding gift. She proceeded to change and alter the house to make it easier for her to entertain lavishly! This weekend, we're celebrating the life of Alva at Belcourt with a special guided tour! A guided 50-minute tour of Belcourt, a summer villa-stable built in 1894 by Oliver Belmont and carefully restored by Carolyn Rafaelian.
