Here are the top 3 stories in Burlington today: The Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG) has completed its investigation into Burlington City Councilor Jack Hanson, who was recently accused of sexually assaulting a subordinate after a party in 2017. However, the nonprofit is not releasing its findings, nor did it notify city officials when the investigation wrapped in October because VPIRG "had made very clear this was an internal inquiry." (Seven Days) In a Friday night emergency declaration, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced that Vermont fuel transporters can now work overtime to deliver fuel to residents. The Vermont Fuel Dealer's Association's companies deliver propane, natural gas, and heating oil to three out of every four Vermont homes. This announcement comes at a time. Vermont is one of 29 states, as well as Washington, D.C., that has been granted emergency relief to keep their residents warm.
