Here are the top three stories today in Myrtle Beach: A person was rescued near the Intracoastal Waterway on Friday by Myrtle Beach Fire Department. The person had been at The Hulk Bike & Run Park in Carolina Forest when they were hurt near the waterfront. MBFD and Horry County Fire Rescue used a rope system to rescue the individual from the water. The person was then brought to the hospital. There are no additional details at this time. (WMBF) Myrtle Beach International Airport is not on the Federal Aviation Administration's list of 50 U.S. airports getting 5G buffer zones. Wireless companies will be turning on 5G service on January 19th, after a delay. 5G service uses the C-band radio frequency that has been cited as possibly having an adverse effect on certain airplane instrumentation. Buffer zones are meant to offset interference by 5G communications — this is particularly crucial in low-visibility situations. The FAA says, there are many airports that are not affected by 5G because there are natural buffers in place. (WBTW)Here's a snapshot of this week's upcoming weather. Sunday's 70-degree temps were short-lived. We return to South Carolina's version of winter for the foreseeable future. Not that there is anything wrong with that! Highs between 45-55 during the day, but oh, those lows! (Patch) From our sponsor: Today's Myrtle Beach Daily is brought to you in part by Newrez, a leading nationwide mortgage lender. That's how he's caught a number of suspects, including a Garden City kidnapper who was convicted thanks in part to one of Jordan's sketches. Sketch artist services are not really in high demand these days, but sometimes a graphite pencil drawing is just the thing needed to nab a criminal. (MyHorryNews.com) Loving the Myrtle Beach Daily? I enjoy dogs, cats, road trips, photography, writing, vegetarian food, live music, bicycling and above all my daily walks on the beaches in and around the Grand Strand.
