Weekend help needed at hunter/jumper horse facility in north Raleigh/Creedmoor. Duties include feeding, watering, hay, stall cleaning, adding bags of bedding as needed, bringing in and turning out horses, blanketing in wintertime, cleaning water troughs in paddocks. Must be able to lift water buckets, heavy bales of hay, feed bags and bags of bedding. No farm maintenance (fencing, mowing, tractor operation) is required. No live in and no room for employee horses. No riding position. Must have reliable transportation, prior knowledge and experience working with and caring for horses with recent references. Must be at least 18 years old, responsible, and confident around horses. Hours are approx. 7:30am-11:30am and 3:30-6:00pm, approx. 6 hours of work daily. 12 stall barn, 15 horses on the property. Scheduling is flexible and set each month with farm manager and other weekend employee. Anywhere from 3-7 horses that live in the barn are gone from farm at shows 2 weeks a month making some weekends light on work but we will still pay the full daily rate! Increase in pay available after first 6 months on job! Great job for a college student. Close to Raleigh, Wake Tech, NCSU, Chapel Hill, and Durham.
