Precious needs a home

Description

Precious is a house trained, spayed, 5-year-old dog. She is up to date on all of her vaccines and preventatives. She is a pit boxer mix, and LOVES people. Precious is a dog with specific needs. We are hoping to find her a home outside of the bustle of densely populated Burlington, and into someone’s private, fenced in back yard. She needs an experienced dog owner that currently has no other pets. She is very responsive to structured learning and when trained consistently. She knows basic commands and will come when called with a whistle. Precious can NOT, by any means, be around other animals. This is an unpredictable trigger for her and she has been known to bite when someone tries to keep her from that animal (other dogs and sometimes cats will unpredictably trigger this aggression and redirection if they are too close.) Most people think that she should be put down because of the biting history. This is our last hope. She is beautiful, funny and playful, perfectly healthy, and EXTREMELY loving and affectionate pup. She deserves a long, happy life. The trigger is other animals. If she had a securely fenced in back yard to run around in alone, or with her humans, she would have the best life ever. She would thrive and also be an asset to anyone who could potentially offer her a home where she is the focus of the family. I can’t stress enough what a wonderful dog she is. In doors she can be very particular (about her bed or what bowls she eats out of). Other than that she’s very easy going, and loves to nap. She also LOVES to cuddle. She doesn’t chew on anything that isn’t her’s, nor does she have accidents in the house. She is also fine with being left alone for up to eight hours. She doesn’t bark. She just naps. When she’s outside she loves to run, jump and fetch. She loves chewing USA bones and sticks. Her favorite treats are peanut butter and freeze dried beef liver. We would love to answer any questions you may have with complete transparency. She is a BIG responsibility, and her not being around other animals is to be taken very seriously. That being said, she deserves a long, happy life, and has so much to offer in return. If you, or anyone you may know, could help her. You would be saving a very special life.
