Country drummer & bass wanted

Woodburn OR

Description

We are a well established country band who have been playing this area for 8 years. After a couple years of, mostly, using friends who are well acquainted with our setlist, we are ready to add a full time drummer and bass player to our group. I'm missing the sound of being consistent. I don't care about age, if you're old enough yet young enough to play late nights in 21+ venues, and meet the other criteria, let's chat. My requirements: That you be committed to the band project. I don't mind if you pick up extra gigs elsewhere in our downtime, but we need to be your first priority. I know plenty of fill in players for "just in case" situations, but I like my band mates on stage at every show for consistency. That you be willing to meet up and practice until we have the sets good to go (we have about 5 hours of music). After we're good, practices would be only when adding new music. We are starting up in April after a winter break, so practices would start in February. This is my most important want/need in players: that you be familiar with, listen to, grew up on, or at least LIKE and have a feel for country music. The real kind of country music. We play some current, some 90's country, some that are a bit bluegrass leaning with fiddle lead, and then we play some southern & classic rock. We will jump from a fiddle song to Miranda Lambert to Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to Merle Haggard to Skynyrd in one set. And we play some obscure songs that most bands out there don't have on their setlist. So you need to either be familiar with country, or have a really good feel for country beats. Lastly, have a good attitude. We spend entirely too much time together to not all get along well. We are family (bet you just sang that line, huh?) and band chemistry is a huge deal for me. I am not 420, but some of the band mates are, and I'm friendly about it as long as you're discreet. Same with alcohol. As long as it's not interfering with your ability to show up and do your part, we're pretty easygoing with that. Text me, send me a link of a youtube/FB/website, or other sample site of you playing, and I will do the same so you can meet the band & see if our music speaks to your soul:) Oh, lastly, YES, you will ALWAYS be paid for gigs. Minimum $100 per show, more depending on the venue. You will NEVER be asked to play for tips or a percentage of the door fee. And you're not paid for practices at my house, but I do provide dinner & drinks. Thanks if you actually read all that!
