Description

It breaks our hearts to be writing this. But we have finally come to the conclusion that Missy won’t fit our lifestyle. Her previous owners rehomed her to us, at 9 months old. She didn’t fit their life because she ran a daycare and Missy was just too much dog for all the littles. We already had a very hyper German Shepherd who the kids were used to running them over, so we didn’t think it would be a big deal. The kids can’t handle her.. she weighed 89 lbs when we got her and has grown significantly since then… she has no idea where her body is and accidentally runs everyone over all the time. She is a stubborn breed and getting her to heed is a challenge (she LOVES food so positive reinforcement with treats has done wonders). She had no training when we got her and she has come a long ways. She is very smart and the world’s biggest sweetie. Aside from that (we figured training would help, and just stick with it)… turns out her stiff hips won’t keep up with our active family, either, and we feel awful leaving her at home. Our hearts are broken to have to rehome her… she is wonderful with the kids, just loves them TOO much, great with the animals (lives on a farm with sheep, horses, chickens, and cats), and is the biggest most snuggly massive lap dog. She would spend all day snuggling in your lap soaking up kisses and hugs. I did treadmill train her so she is used to that. Just can’t spend terribly long times exercising or she gets stiff. She is fully house trained and can go a long time, never has had an accident here. Her birthdate was November 21st 2020 (so is currently just a little over a year old). Gets along great with all other dogs and has been well socialized. Her previous owner did a blood test to see what breeds she is, and it came back with 37.5% Great Pyrenees, 25% St. Bernard, 12.5% Standard Poodle, 12.5% Rottweiler, and 12.5% old English sheepdog. She was fixed and had all her shots right before we got her. She is the biggest love… she just needs somewhere slightly less active (although she still needs plenty of exercise!) and preferably somewhere with bigger kids. She’d do wonderful where she has a yard and other dogs to play with. Rehoming fee of $300 to ensure she goes to a wonderful home… this pup is very dear to our hearts!
