We operate a Visitors’ Center, too – making DHT the perfect location for walks to explore the dynamic Brickell neighborhood. While seemingly new, Brickell is one of Miami’s earliest neighborhoods where symbols of Miami history mix with contemporary development, Biscayne Bay and the Miami River. The Brickell neighborhood has some amazing contemporary buildings designed by acclaimed architects from around the globe as well as some remnants from the early days! This tour on Brickell Avenue north to the Miami River is all about architecture and the transformation of Brickell to a high-rise financial and residential district. Dade Heritage Trust is headquartered at 190 SE 12 Terrace, in one of Miami's oldest buildings (circa 1905), which once served as the original office of Dr. James Jackson.
