Pop Rock Cover Band SEEKING Female Vocalist and Piano/Synth
Meets
Rutherford NJ
Description
We are currently a 4 piece pop/rock cover band focusing on hits from the 2000s, although we do play a lot of hits from the 90s, 80s, (and some 70s and 60s). We are drums, bassist who sings lead & background, electric guitarist who sings background, and lead vocalist who plays acoustic guitar and simple piano. We are all in our mid 30s to early 40s, working day jobs and have families/home life to balance. We just love playing music, and want to gig and make some pocket money in the process. We mostly gig in North Jersey (Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Morris, Hudson counties), and occasional rehearsals typically take place at Smacktone Studios in Woodland Park. We gig about 2 times a month, with an occasional rehearsal here and there. Our typical venues are breweries and sit-down restaurants. We also play outdoor summer beer festivals, and also do private parties occasionally. Looking for a FEMALE Singer who also plays PIANO / SYNTH. We want to add the female-vocal driven repertoire for artists like: Britney Spears, Adele, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, Joan Jett, Whitney Houston, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, etc. Basically, we want to add all the hits from top female artists from the last 3 to 4 decades. - You should be a skilled vocalist with ability to control dynamics (ie. sound good singing both softly and belting loudly) and stay in tune/sing in pitch. - You should be able to learn songs quickly and have basic understanding of pop song structure (for example: understand what a four chord song that is I-V-vi-IV means; understand what a verse is, what a chorus is). - You should be able to comp basic major and minor chords for pop songs, and sing along to them. We're not looking for a piano virtuoso; just someone who can play intermediate piano and synth lead lines (ie. piano part of The Scientist by Coldplay, or the synth lead line in Blinding Lights by The Weeknd). - You should have your own equipment (even a simple $200 Casio portable arranger keyboard with its 300 built in sound will be great. No need for a $5000 Nord Stage keyboard). - You should be reliable (show up on time to gigs and rehearsals knowing the songs and prepared). - You should be able to learn 10-12 songs for each rehearsal. - You should have your own transportation. - No drugs, No drama, No ego, No snobbery. We don't have time/energy to deal with that stuff; we've each got day jobs and family life to deal with already. - Just plain good fun playing music and making some money. You should NOT reply if: - you are an absolute beginner at singing and/or piano - you don't enjoy pop/rock music from 1960s through 2020s - you expect to show up to rehearsals or gigs unprepared without knowing the songs and think you'll just wing it - you are flaky and will appear and disappear to scheduled rehearsals/gigs randomly or sporadically Here is a video of our performances: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3cvda_Gg88 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynk0l3ZGHrI INCLUDE IN EMAIL: YOUR NAME, PHONE #, LINK TO VIDEO OR AUDIO OF YOU SINGING & PLAYING PIANO/SYNTH.
