Join Nick Wheeler for an exploration of the modern cocktails that have achieved the status of classics. So many of the classic cocktails we know and love today hail from a single period of American drinking, often called the Golden Age, which stretches from the 1860s until the early rumblings of prohibition. The Martini, the Manhattan, the Whiskey Sour, the Old Fashioned, and so many more of the cocktails which are now household names owe their existence to the innovative Golden Age bartenders. Luckily for us now, we have entered a new golden age, sometimes called the Cocktail Renaissance. Starting around the turn of the last century, this movement began with the rediscovery of older cocktails and techniques, but has morphed into the fascinating and adventurous scene we all know today. And like it’s over century old cousin, the new golden age has produced its fair share of classics. In this class, cocktail phenom Nick Wheeler will explore these modern classic cocktails, and teach you how to make them for yourself. Expect a deep dive into the knowledge and techniques of modern bartenders, and learn why these drinks have a staying power that so many others lack. COVID-19 Protocols: While we are excited to resume hosting events, we are aware of the risk that remains from COVID-19. Because of this, we are asking that all attendees provide proof of vaccination when they come to the class. The nature of our event makes social distancing and masking impractical, so until advice changes, our classes will be limited to vaccinated customers only. Must be 21+ to attend.
