Description
I am supposed to volunteer providing humanitarian aid for several weeks starting at the end of January. I had a friend lined up to watch my dog, but that fell through. I now am trying to figure out who might be able to watch my dog from January 26 - February 16.
I can afford to pay someone but I can't afford the $30-$40/night that is standard at kennels and on Rover. I'm taking unpaid leave to volunteer and while I'm grateful for the chance to give back, it does mean I'm a little low on funds at the moment.
Does anyone have suggestions or thoughts on alternatives or places to look for dog care? I did call some kennels and explain my situation, and $30/night was as low as people could go. I would also hate for my dog to be in a cage for three weeks straight. She is a 45-pound goofball who likes at least one walk a day, and while I do leave her alone for 8-9 hours while I'm at work, three weeks in a kennel seems like it would be really isolating for a dog?
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you.
