CONCORD, NH — As promised, Department of Defense workers arrived in New Hampshire on Friday to assist hospitals with coronavirus services. Gov. Chris Sununu visited with the active duty service members at Elliot Hospital at Rivers Edge in Manchester on Friday. The governor said the state was grateful for the assistance as officials work to combat the winter surge. "As always, I want to say thank you to the nurses, doctors, and health care workers who have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic," Sununu said. "I would also like to thank our federal partners for working with us to make this resource available, which will help to open additional beds and provide flexibilities to our health care system." Crashes All Around New Hampshire It was a snow day for a lot of students (not Concord School District SAU 8 students who had school today, much to the chagrin of some students, including mine, although they tell me attendance was light). Hundreds of schools and programs canceled plans and classes. And, there were also crashes all around New Hampshire, too. Cars, SUVs, and tractor-trailers were involved in dozens of accidents around the state on Friday. Credit: Jeffrey Hastings/Frame of Mind Photography Harmony Montgomery Reward Increases to $94K More pledges have been made to the Manchester Police Department for the reward as part of the effort to find Harmony Montgomery, 7, who was last seen in October 2019. The reward increased from $60,000 to $94,000 in the past 24 hours, according to Heather Hamel, the department's public information officer. The increase came from five new commitments: Bernice Thomas of Nashua who offered $15,000; $10,000 from Jessica Popp of Vermont, $5,000 from District 3 Executive Councilor Janet Stevens; $3,000 from Alpha Bits Learning Center of Manchester; and $1,000 by Harmony Psychiatric Services of Salem. "We cannot thank the community and those from surrounding states, cities, and towns enough for their generosity and support as we continue to investigate the disappearance of this 7-year-old child," Hamel said.
