Rehoming Green-Wing Macaw

Description

I’m rehoming my Green-Wing Macaw. He’s 3 years old and hatched on May 28th, 2018. He has a small vocabulary, including hello, what’s up, hi, hi red, and occasional laughing. He’s pretty mellow for a macaw, he does scream a few times each day but it’s not constant if he’s getting some attention and has enough toys and enrichment. I’m not sure if he’s okay with other birds because he’s our only large parrot, but he’s good with people once he knows them, and he's familiar with loud dog barking. He’s not great at flying, but his wings have never been clipped so he flies a little. He does have a bit of a scissor beak so he needs wood toys or perches to chew on to grind it down. We also take him in to an avian specialist to grind his beak down once every 3 months or so to keep it from growing improperly. I’m changing living situations and can’t bring him with me when I move. There is no rehoming fee but you must meet certain criteria for me to even consider rehoming him to you. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’d rather re-home him for free to a great home than sell him to an unsuitable owner. Requirements - Houses only, absolutely no apartments - Parrot care experience required - Space for large cage (he currently lives in an indoor walk-in cage) - Financial ability to pay for proper food, constant toys, and veterinary services - Lifestyle that allows the proper time to care for and show attention to a large parrot If you’re interested in adopting him and meet the above criteria, please reach out via craigslist with some basic details about how you meet the requirements. I’ll ask a few more questions and can answer any questions you may have about him. If it’s a good fit we can exchange numbers and setup a time for you to come meet him prior to taking him home. I’m not in a big rush, I won’t be moving until a couple months from now, so we’ll be selecting his new home very carefully. Please don’t reach out if you’re on the fence about this or if you don’t meet the requirements; these inquiries will simply be ignored.
